After a crash in New London on Wednesday night, a motorcyclist lost his life.

According to police, there were 911 calls of a collision near Jefferson Avenue and Roosevelt Street at 10:36 p.m. to the New London Emergency Communications Centre.

The rider, later identified as 33-year-old Watertown resident Jared Barber of the Quaker Hill neighbourhood, was brought to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, where he passed away, according to police.

After being shut down for several hours, Jefferson Avenue is again open again.
