Jalen Young and Michael Pike Obituary News: In loving memory of two killed in Elkhart County shooting.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is actively investigating a double fatal shooting that occurred early Thursday morning at 3147 Northview Drive. A suspect is currently in custody, police confirmed.

According to The Elkhart Police Department in a media release, at approximately 12:22 a.m., the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a call of a shooting with injuries at 3147 Northview Drive. Elkhart Police Department officers and first responders dispatched and arrived at the scene shortly thereafter.

Upon arrival, officers observed two injured males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds lying in the parking lot at this location (in front of Galley Sports Pub). One of the injured males, identified as Michael Pike, 30 years old, was pronounced deceased in the parking lot. Medics transported the second male victim, identified as Jalen Young, 24 years old, to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Jalen Young was subsequently pronounced deceased at the hospital, police said.

Elkhart Police Department officers also located and detained a male suspect at the scene. Male suspect, identified as Christain Wall, 22 years old, was arrested and booked into the Elkhart County Jail on preliminary suspicion of Murder.

According to police, the arrest will be forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for review of formal criminal charges.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit was activated and took over the investigation, per protocol. All further inquiries regarding the status of the investigation should be directed to the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information regarding the investigation can call the Homicide Unit at 574-295-2825.
