Jah’Zir Jackson Obituary News: 18-year-old dead, several injured after Thursday night shootout in southwest Charlotte.

Following a late night shootout between two groups of young men in southwest Charlotte, authorities reported one person dead and numerous more injured.

The parties started shooting at each other on Apex Landing Way, which is located just off of Tyvola Road, at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Jah’Zir Jackson, 18, has been identified as the deceased victim, CMPD confirmed.

18-year-old Al-Terrik Bogar is now arrested in connection with the shooting and has been charged with criminal offences including; Assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury, Attempted murder, Discharging a firearm into occupied property for is actions wile shooting the second victim.

One of the parties was in a car at the location on Apex Landing Way, according to the police, while the other group was in an apartment building just across Tyvola Road. The people in the car crashed into several parked cars after exchanging shots. After being transported to the hospital, at least two of the passengers in the car were taken to hospital. Unfortunately, one now identified as Jackson succumbed to his injuries.

Another individual, from the apartments, was also transported to the hospital. According to the CMPD, at least two of the victims were 17 years old.
