Jacob Pothier Car Accident: 18-Year-Old Man Jacob Pothier Killed In Dartmouth Car Crash

On Friday night, a car accident in Dartmouth resulted in the death of an 18-year-old male named Jacob Pothier and the serious injuries of a 44-year-old woman named Kathleen Martins.

Around 10:30 p.m., there were reports of a single-car collision along Gulf Road and Smith Neck Road with possible ejections. Law enforcement arrived to the scene.

Authorities found Kathleen Martins and Jacob Pothier unconscious on the road next to a badly damaged 2022 Honda Accord when they arrived at the site.

The victims were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford without delay. Regretfully, upon arrival, New Bedford resident Jacob Pothier was pronounced dead. Dartmouth resident Kathleen Martins is battling potentially fatal injuries.

The facts behind the sad incident are being aggressively investigated by the Dartmouth Police Department incident Reconstruction Unit in cooperation with investigators from the department and the Massachusetts State Police.
