Jack Axelrod Obituary: Jack Axelrod, who played Victor Jerome on General Hospital, has died. He was 93. Axelrod died of natural causes on November 28 in Los Angeles, according to several reports. Axelrod starred in 40 episodes of the ABC series between 1987 and 1989. He previously starred in Kojak (1977), Hill Street Blues (1984), Dallas (1983), The Judge (1986), Dynasty (1987), Outlaws (1987), and Night Court (1989) as a guest star.

“I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with him in his last years, as he had no immediate family,” Jennifer Garland, an estate spokesperson, said in an EW statement. “We spent much time outdoors, where Jack loved to sketch, read news articles, and recite Shakespearean sonnets.” Following his appearance on General Hospital, Axelrod starred as Arnie Zimmer in three episodes of Knots Landing between 1989 and 1990. He appeared as a guest star in Murphy Brown (1992), Everybody Loves Raymond (1999), Boys Meets World (1999), Good vs. Evil (1999), Jack & Jill (1999), Dharma & Greg (1999), and Star Trek: Voyager (2000).

Axelrod had a recurring role in the 2004 WB sitcom The Help. The actor played Grandpa Eddie alongside Camille Guaty, Al Santos, Brenda Strong, Kert Lynn Pratt, Megan Fox, Mindy Cohn, Marika Dominczyk, and Antonio Sabato Jr. His next recurring role was as Charlie Yost on Grey’s Anatomy, a Shonda Rhimes drama series. Axelrod appeared on My Name Is Earl for eight episodes between 2005 and 2008. The Office, Raising Hope, Hot in Cleveland, Love Bites, Franklin & Bash, Criminal Minds, Animal Practice, Hawaii Five-0, and others have all aired.
