In relation to the murder of a 79-year-old woman in the Khandallah neighborhood of Wellington, police are pursuing “positive lines of inquiry.”

Last Wednesday, Helen Gregory was discovered dead in her Baroda Street house; a post-mortem examination indicated that “a violent act” was the cause of her tragic death.

Police have been questioning people along Baroda Street over the past week, and Gregory’s residence is still being investigated.

According to Detective Inspector Nick Pritchard, authorities think her murder was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public at large.

Khandallah is a suburb of Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. It is located 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) northeast of the city centre, on hills overlooking Wellington Harbour.
