Harvist Zebari and Bervian Zebara Obituary News: 5 New York Family Killed In Pennsylvania by tractor-trailer during snowstorm
Five members of a New York family perished in a terrible tractor-trailer collision that happened during a snowstorm.
The deceased were identified as follows: Fatma Ahmed, 71, of Binghamton, New York; Shahzinaz Mizouri, 56, of Vestal, New York; 19-year-old Aleen Ameen and 43-year-old Bervian Zebara, both of Johnson City, New York; and 42-year-old Harvist Zebari of Endwell, New York.
While the unidentified tractor-trailer driver only received minor injuries, the sixth individual, Johnson City, New York resident Parjan Ameen, 22, had moderate injuries.
On Tuesday at approximately 5:15 p.m., all of the women were travelling on Pennsylvania’s Interstate 81.
The majority were in a minivan that crashed into a median barrier after losing control on a snow-covered freeway in northeastern Pennsylvania.
Four people got out of the vehicle in Scott Township following the collision. A witness to the collision, a relative in a different car, pulled over to provide assistance.
The tractor-trailer that was travelling north on the interstate subsequently struck and killed all five of them, a Lackawanna County Coroner verified to ABC.
The five all came from the same family in New York.
The Pennsylvania State Police are still looking into this.
