Haley Elizabeth Ray Obituary News: 17- Years-Old Haley Elizabeth of Hazlehurs dies in Telfair County Following Tragic Accident

Due to injuries she received in an accident, Haley Elizabeth Ray, 17, of Hazlehurst, passed dead in Telfair County on Friday, January 5, 2024.

Haley was born in Ocilla on April 14, 2006. She was ranked third in her class in the Jeff Davis County High School class of 2024. She participated in the Beta Club, FBLA, yearbook staff, and Jeff Davis Hospital’s student advisory board. Haley led worship at the Hazlehurst Church of God of Prophecy as well. She was a cowboy at heart and an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman. Raymond Manning, Haley’s maternal grandfather, passed away before her.

Her paternal grandparents, LeRoy (Betty) Ray and Elaine (Garry) Spires, maternal great-grandmother, Betty Kight, uncles, Randy (Wren) Manning and Shawn Ray, and close friends Tori Taylor, Lexi Girtman, and Aleah Parker are also living. Her parents, Newly & Kandy Ray of Hazlehurst, brother, Christian Ray, and sister, Jaiden Johns (Colby), are also living.

Rev. Randy Manning will preside over funeral services on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 3:00 PM from the Hazlehurst Church of God. There will be a burial in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery afterward.

Jesse Worth, Bobby Brue, Tre Rea, Lewis Baker, Cheyne Browning, and Shawn Ray will be pallbearers.

The student council and members of the Jeff Davis County High School class of 2024 will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The church will be open for visits one hour before the service.

Swain Funeral Home is in charge of making funeral arrangements.
