Gerardo Ulloa Car Accident: Driver faces DUI charges following fatal auto-pedestrian crash in Edinburg, TX.

The 50-year-old Gerardo Ulloa who was killed in the fatal auto-pedestrian accident in Edinburg has been named.

According to a news statement, Ulloa was hit by a car between FM 907 and Wisconsin Road on Sunday, July 2, and died as a result of his injuries.

According to the press announcement, the motorist, Juan Antonio Perez, 40, departed the scene without stopping to offer assistance.

The suspect car, a silver GMC Sierra, was located by Texas Department of Public Safety officers at the junction of Canton Road and FM 907. According to the news release, the truck had blood on the driver’s side and damage to the front left.

According to the news release, further investigation established that the truck was the one that struck Ulloa, and Perez displayed signs of intoxication after failing a series of sobriety tests.

After being detained, Perez was taken to the Hidalgo County Jail.
