Gerald Ralph Car Accident:71-year-Old Resident of Orofino passed away

Gerald Ralph Davis, 71, of Orofino, passed away on Friday from his wounds sustained in a horrific single-vehicle collision at the junction of Summit Grade and U.S. Highway 12 close to Lenore.

On Saturday, Josh Hall, the Nez Perce County Coroner, formally identified the victim by establishing that Davis was born on August 19, 1952.

According to information provided by the Idaho State Police, Davis was driving a 1990 Toyota pickup truck in the westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 12 when the incident happened.

Sadly, the car swerved over the centerline and into the eastbound lane, eventually pulling off the road. The pickup truck rolled once and stopped close to Summit Grade.

Gerald Ralph Davis was found not to be wearing a seat belt at the time of the occurrence, and he met his sad fate at the crash site.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are still being looked into, according to the state police. Preliminary results, however, point to no involvement of drugs or alcohol in the terrible incident.
