An accident involving two fatal vehicles happened in Dorchester County on Tuesday afternoon. The Maryland State Police are looking into it.

Gary Peek, 66, of Madison, Maryland, was the victim. Emergency medical care officials declared him dead at the spot. He was the only occupant and the driver of the Ford F-450 truck that was involved in the collision. Michael Gambrill, 32, of East New Market, Maryland, the driver of the Ford F-250 truck that was involved in the collision, and a passenger, a 7-year-old child, were both taken by ambulance to University Of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Cambridge for treatment of their wounds.

When a two-vehicle crash was reported just after 12:30 p.m. in Cambridge, Maryland, troopers from the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack went to the intersection of Maryland Route 343 (Hudson Road) and Bar Neck Road. An Intech trailer was attached to a Ford F-450 that was parked on the westbound side of Hudson Road and performing utility work with emergency cones and lights activated when an F-250 traveling west on Hudson Road struck the rear of the trailer for an unknown reason.

Following the collision, Maryland Route 343 was closed for more than 5 hours. Responding to the scene to offer assistance were members of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, Dorchester County Emergency Medical Services, and the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration. The inquiry is being handled by the Crash Team of the Maryland State Police.
