Never Have I Ever (TV series)
The American comedy-drama TV show Never Have I Ever, which stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, was made by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. Even though it takes place in the San Fernando Valley, the show is said to be partly based on Kaling’s childhood in the Boston area. Kaling herself has said that it is based “in the spirit of my childhood.” It came out on Netflix on April 27, 2020, and is about an Indian-American high school student who has to deal with the sudden death of her father and the bumpy road of her last three years of high school. The series got a lot of good reviews.
People have said that the show was a turning point for how South Asians are portrayed in Hollywood and praised it for breaking Asian stereotypes. Netflix revived the show for a second season on July 1, 2020. The second season began on July 15, 2021. Netflix revived the show on August 19, 2021, for a third season, which came out on August 12, 2022, and a fourth and final season, which came out on June 8, 2023.
