Elyse Parcell Education and Career
In 2014, she earned a B.S. in Organismic and Environmental Biology from Fort Lewis College. After graduating, she worked from May to August 2014 as a Wildlife Biologist Technician in the U.S. Forest Service’s Manti-La Sal National Forest in Moab, Utah.
After that, from December 10, 2014, to April 15, 2015, she interned at Silverton Mountain in Silverton, Colorado. She devoted her time from April to October 2015 to the U.S. Forest Service’s Sawtooth National Forest in Stanley, Idaho, where she worked as an Engine Type 2 Wildland Firefighter.
She then started working as a wildland firefighter for Pike Hotshots in Monument, Colorado, where she was employed from April 1, 2016, to October 30, 2017. She expanded her experience as a former Heliski intern at Alaska Mountain Guides from February to May 2019.
