Dshanti Whitlock Car Accident: A car crash overnight has left one woman dead and two other people recovering in the hospital.

Rockford Police said at 10:35 p.m. Monday, Dshanti Whitlock, 20, was a backseat passenger in a vehicle that was travelling eastbound on Whitman Street, approaching the 6th Street exit, when it left the roadway and rolled over, coming to rest in the 1000 block of Chamberlain St.

Whitlock was said to be responsive when medics arrived but went into cardiac arrest in the hospital emergency room.

Dshanti died at 11:50 p.m., the coroner said. A cause of death was not given, as autopsy tests are pending.

Tragedy struck on Tuesday when Dshanti Whitlock, a 20-year-old resident of Chicago, met her untimely demise in a devastating car accident. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, in the vicinity of the 100 block of Whitman Street.

Dshanti Whitlock was discovered in an unresponsive state at the crash scene. She had been seated in the back of the vehicle when the driver, Terrance Simon, 22, a resident of Rockford, lost control of the car, resulting in a collision with a tree.

Efforts to save Dshanti’s life were initiated promptly, but sadly, she succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter, entering into cardiac arrest.

The Rockford Police Department, in collaboration with the Winnebago County Corner’s Office, has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic crash. This investigation encompasses a thorough examination of the factors contributing to Dshanti’s untimely passing.
