Dirk Arthur Death; Las Vegas Magician Dirk Arthur, Animal Showman Dies at 63

Dirk Arthur, a veteran magician and animal performer in Las Vegas, has passed away.

Arthur was well-known for his 20 years of large cat shows in Las Vegas. The most recent occurred in 2015, when his performance of “Dirk Arthur’s Wild Illusions” took place at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

We are extremely grieved by Dirk Arthur’s passing at Westgate Las Vegas. He was gifted in a unique way, and he will always be adored by our Westgate family.

He was the final illusionist to perform in Las Vegas with wild animals.

Laura Herlovich, Arthur’s longtime publicist, also issued a statement in which she said, in part, “I was lucky to know him and share his world.”

Herlovich stated that ‘Of all the huge cats, Dirk had the biggest heart, the most love, compassion, and understanding. His affection for his kitties outweighed his love for magic. He was such a special person, and he loved showing off his cats to everyone who came to his performances or were fortunate enough to drop by his habitat. He was making preparations for the commencement of a brand-new performance in Branson. Rest In Peace, my dear. I counted myself fortunate to have met him and seen his universe. Without a doubt, Vegas will miss his kind disposition and enthusiasm for entertainment.’

With his birthday coming up this month, Arthur was 63 years old. May his soul rest in peace
