The sudden passing of Garlock, who was well-known for her dedication to the field of human services and the contributions she made to the community, has had a profound effect on those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Garlock was a student who excelled during her time at Florida State Community College (FLCC), where she majored in Human Services. She graduated from FLCC. She was honored with the Louis Shenkman Memorial Award, which is further evidence of her dedication and commitment to both her academic pursuits and the community within which she lives.
In addition, she was honored with the FLCC Outstanding Alumni Art Achievement Award, which is a testament to the fact that she has a wide range of talents and is committed to her alma university. She left an indelible mark on the community of the institution through the exhibition of her art in a number of galleries located within the FLCC.
