David Didiodato Obituary – Death: Ontario Man, David Didiodato Passes Away
David Didiodato Obituary: On July 1, 2023, in his 48th year, David passed away quietly at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in the company of his devoted family.
beloved father to his boys Gabriel, Nicolas, and Joseph as well as beloved spouse to Carly. David was Lisa (Chris) Pauletto’s beloved brother and the loving son of Joe and Toni Di Diodato.
David’s beloved Nonna Maddalena (late Nonno Ferrino Di Diodato), as well as his late Nonni Erminia and Gennaro Filice, are still alive.
David’s siblings Carla (Carl) Galli, Elena (Alain) Carzoli, Nat (Marjie) Filice, and their families, as well as his in-laws Norm and Roberta MacLeod and Jonathan (Justine) MacLeod, will all miss him terribly.
David was proud to be Alessandro, Andrea, Adrian, and Aria Pauletto’s Zio “Choo-choo” and Fiona MacLeod’s Zio Dave.
On June 19, 1976, David was born in Hamilton. His Nonni had instilled in him a deep sense of pride in his Italian heritage and culture. Nothing made him happier than taking care of his extensive garden and fruit trees, then canning and preserving the bounty.
Each fall, he enjoyed producing his own wine and salamis that had been aged. David also cherished spending time in the kitchen creating delectable Italian meals for friends and family, frequently while listening to Italian music. He was frequently the life of any gathering because he always loved to have a good time.
David realized he wanted a career change after working for the HSR for a number of years. He returned to school, earned his teaching credential, and subsequently received a job offer from the HWCDSB as a dedicated languages teacher at St. Thomas More High School.
He cherished his time spent teaching and had hope that he could have an impact on his pupils’ lives. Additionally, he loved working with his incredible STM family and made many lifelong friends. They were known for their renowned practical jokes on one another.
David was a die-hard supporter of both the Toronto Blue Jays and Buffalo Bills. He also enjoyed traveling with Carly, going to the beach, getting a good workout at the gym, and laughing out loud while watching old Benny Hill repeats, all of which demonstrated his profound sense of humor.
David most especially had a great love for his family and his pet lion, Simba. To him, they were everything. He would tell his three boys that he loved them “with all my heart” and was especially proud of them.
Even though their time together was brief, it was plenty for him to inculcate principles in her that would endure a lifetime. Dad will always be their role model. He bravely battled a difficult foe, yet he never wavered in his optimism or resolve.
Without the love and support of his family and friends, especially his devoted wife Carly, his parents Toni and Joe, and his mother-in-law Roberta, he would not have been able to be with us for as long as he did.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the medical professionals, nurses, and PSWs who have cared for Dave throughout his journey—especially Daniel and Kim. We want to express our gratitude in particular to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice’s special angels for their kind assistance.
