Danica L. Maclin Car Accident: Tragedy struck on the evening of October 1, 2023, as a devastating car accident unfolded on State Highway 155 South, resulting in the untimely demise of a 36-year-old Frankston resident, Danica L. Maclin. This unfortunate incident transpired approximately half a mile south of FM 2661 at precisely 9:05 P.M.

Regrettably, Ms. Maclin was not wearing her seatbelt when the accident occurred, and her life was tragically cut short. JP Andy Dunklin, who arrived at the scene, had the solemn duty of pronouncing her deceased.

The sequence of events leading to this heartbreaking incident began when Ms. Maclin was behind the wheel of her 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse, travelling south on State Highway 155 South. It was then that she lost control of her vehicle, veering into the opposing lane.

In a fateful twist, her car collided with a 2024 Freightliner Truck Tractor, which was towing a 2013 Polar Semi-Trailer.

Fortunately, the driver of the Freightliner, a 49-year-old Houston resident, was adhering to safety measures by wearing a seatbelt, which spared him from sustaining any injuries during the tragic collision. Notably, the posted speed limit in the vicinity of the accident site stands at 60 mph.

Preliminary investigations, spearheaded by Trooper R. Wilkinson from DPS Tyler, have indicated that the weather conditions were favourable, with clear skies, and the road was dry when this heart-wrenching accident unfolded. The ongoing investigation seeks to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this grievous car crash.
