Chloe Darnel Missing; Suspect Arrested In Death of Missing Child Found Dead

On Thursday, the sheriff’s office provided confirmation that they had located what is thought to be the body of Chloe Darnel. In addition to this, they made two arrests and charged both of them with murder.

Brittany Slaughter, age 24, and Adam Hayes, age 34, have been charged with murder, mistreatment of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence in connection with a death that occurred in their home. Chloe was under Slaughter’s care at the time.

Earlier this week, the sheriff’s office in Whitley County made the announcement that Slaughter and Chloe were missing from the area. The family said at the time that they had not seen the child since the end of September.

During the course of the search, authorities from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office, the Williamsburg Police Department, the Corbin Police Department, the Kentucky State Police, and the ATF were all requested to assist.

At first, the primary focus of the investigation was on locating a car that was associated with Slaughter. Within the span of a day, they were successful in locating and seizing a red Mitsubishi, but they were unable to identify Slaughter or Chloe right away.

Chloe Darnel’s murder is allegedly the work of Adam Hayes, who is 34 years old, and Brittany Slaughter, who is 24 years old.

An autopsy will be performed on the deceased individual at the office of the state medical examiner in Frankfort.

According to investigators, this case is still being actively looked at, and additional charges might be potential.
