Charleston Fatal Shooting: The Charleston Police Department said one person was killed after a shooting at a downtown gas station.
Officers responded to the Circle K gas station on Meeting Street just after 5 a.m. Friday for reported gunshots.
Sgt. Anthony Gibson said officers located a male who had been shot. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Charleston police investigate deadly shooting at downtown gas station
The Charleston Police Department is investigating a shooting at a gas station downtown Friday morning that left one person dead.
Officers responded to the Circle K on Meeting Street around 5 a.m. in reference to reports of gunshots in the area.
Officers discovered a male victim who was pronounced dead on the scene, a spokesperson for the department said.
The victim has not yet been identified by the coroner’s office.
According to an alert sent out by the College of Charleston, the suspect is a male who fled in a dark-colored vehicle from the parking lot of the gas station northbound on Meeting Street.
