Chang Hee Song Obituary News:Crystal Lake shooting Death Of Chang Hee Song

On Friday, January 5, 2023, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office announced that the shooting event that took place inside a home in unincorporated Crystal Lake and left four people dead has been formally identified as a murder-suicide. Formally, the case is closed.

The extensive death investigations that were started on August 9, 2023, in unincorporated Crystal Lake have been successfully ended by the joint efforts of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Major Investigations Assistance Team (MIAT). Law enforcement found a seriously injured woman, a male shooter, and three dead ladies on that awful day.

The horrific shooting occurred in unincorporated Crystal Lake on August 9, 2023, at around 3:56 a.m. According to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, many gunshots were heard on the block of 5800 Wild Plum Road, and deputies there arrived quickly.

When deputies arrived on the site, they found three adult ladies dead, one critically injured, and an adult male who was later identified as the attacker and had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. It was established that the victims were, regrettably, relatives.

Chang Hee Song, 73, Yuna Song, 49, and Lauren Smith-Song, 32, are the three female victims who have been identified. Michael Rein, the McHenry County Coroner, ruled their deaths to be homicides.

Jean Song was named as the male perpetrator of the terrible crime, and his death was officially declared to be a suicide.
