Camille Rylak Obituary News: This morning, Camille Rylak, who had been a patient at Penn Medicine and Jefferson Health for several months, passed away.
She underwent chemotherapy and immunotherapy therapies before losing her battle with a rare malignancy. On July 12, 2023, she was declared deceased while being attended by family members.
On March 8, 2023, Camille received a diagnosis of a very rare type of cancer. Her liver has developed a mass as a result of the malignancy, but its underlying origin is unknown. This suggests that the doctors are unable to determine how or why the cancer developed.
What happened to Camille Rylak?
Prior to her death, Camille Rylak had treatment at Penn Medicine and Jefferson Health for a rare malignancy. She was admitted to the hospital on Monday, April 17, 2023, as a result of the frequent fevers that she had been having throughout the weekend.
In an effort to stay ahead of the situation and lower Camille’s temperature, the medical staff examined Camille’s body for indications of a bacterial infection while also administering medicines.
The doctors decided not to give her the chemotherapy treatment that week as planned. The doctors opted to discharge her from the hospital on day five of her stay because they were unable to diagnose a bacterial infection. However, not before giving her additional medications to make sure she was infection-free. Earlier that week, Camille had a consultation with one of her oncologists.
The tumors on Camille’s liver and the cysts on her kidney were giving her a lot of agony, so the doctor decided to increase the strength of her pain medication. kept a close eye on her temperature changes as well.
Camille was able to continue her chemotherapy treatments, and on May 3, 2023, a PET scan was planned for her. The PET scan will give the doctors important data that will help them identify the precise origin of Camille’s cancer and create an effective treatment plan for her going forward.
Her physicians couldn’t treat her cancer in July because they thought she was too frail for chemotherapy, so she was sent home. She was 42 years old when she tragically passed away today, July 12, 2023. We send our condolences to her family and friends.
