Cade Wolfe Obituary Mankato: Five members of US service killed in aircraft training accident in eastern Mediterranean Sea.
US European Command released a statement on Friday night confirming that five US military members died in an aircraft crash during a training trip in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
According to EUCOM, the incident happened during a standard air refueling flight that was a component of military training. On board the chopper were five service personnel who all died.
After the crash, search and rescue operations got on right away. The specific cause of the crash and the moment in the flight when it happened are unknown, but the incident is still being investigated.
“Jill and I are praying for the families and friends who have lost a precious loved one – a piece of their soul. Our entire nation shares their grief,” President Joe Biden said in a statement.
“We can definitively say that the aircraft sortie was purely related to training and there are no indications of hostile activity,” European Command previously emphasized, stating that the incident was unrelated to Israel’s combat in Gaza or the fighting along the Israel-Lebanon border.
Cade Wolfe was identified by friends and family as one of the five victims.
“Our hearts are shattered this morning to learn the news of long time member, Cade Wolfe’s passing while serving for his country. The ultimate sacrifice will not be forgotten and we will miss you Cade. Cade brought so much joy and energy to all of us. Scott, Cooper and the rest of the Wolfe family, we hold you tight in our hearts. RIP Cade,” a tribute post shared on Facebook said.
