Bonnie Bailey Suicide: In loving memory of Dr. Antoinette Candia-Bailey, vice president of student affairs at Lincoln University-Missouri; Lincoln University President Dr. John Moseley to be fired?

Dr. Antoinette Candia-Bailey, vice president of student affairs at Lincoln University-Missouri, reportedly died by suicide as a result of “severe mistreatment and bullying,” as family members confirmed.

There are currently calls for Lincoln University President Dr. John Moseley to step down amid protests from the Jefferson City, Missouri, community. Bailey’s “cries for help” were reportedly ignored by the management of Lincoln University, which is why they “should no longer be allowed to lead,” social media posts stated.

Lincoln University students alums are now organizing for accountability using the #FireMoseley hashtag to help bring awareness.

“The Lincoln University community is mourning the loss of beloved alum and leader Dr. Antoinette “Bonnie” Candia-Bailey,” LU said in a statement release shared on Facebook.

“Dr. Bailey passed away earlier this week. She was a gifted colleague and always a passionate advocate for Lincoln University, HBCUs and other causes in which she believed.”

“Dr. Bailey had many friends in the Lincoln University community. As a Blue Tiger community, we grieve with them and send our deepest condolences to Dr. Bailey’s family.”
