Audrey Cooper Obituary – Death: Lifelong St. Tammany Parish Resident and President Cooper’s Mother Dies At 92

Audrey Cooper Obituary; It is with great sadness, we announce the death of Lifelong St. Tammany Parish Resident and President Cooper’s Mother, Audrey Cooper who has tragically passed away. Her unwavering commitment and service to the community will be remembered.

This loss is deeply felt by her colleagues and the community she served. Our thoughts and condolences go out to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

This was a sad weekend for St. Tammany Parish. On Friday evening, surrounded by family, President Cooper’s mother, Mrs. Audrey Cooper, passed away at 92. A native of Madisonville and lifelong St. Tammany Parish resident, Mrs. Audrey was known as the caring matriarch of the Cooper family. As First Lady of Covington, she supported her husband, Ernest, as he served as Mayor for 24 years.
Mrs. Audrey’s life was one of service, both professionally and personally. She served as a secretary within the 22nd Judicial District Courts, volunteered often at St. Tammany Parish Hospital and was a faithful parishioner at St. Peter’s Church in Covington.
Perhaps her best quality was her thoughtfulness and care for others, which she shared with her five children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a remarkable cook, with a great appreciation for weekly family time around the dinner table.
St. Tammany Parish Government mourns the passing of Mrs. Audrey Cooper and District Attorney Warren Montgomery, who passed away Friday evening after a courageous battle with cancer. They both left a legacy of care and service and will be sorely missed.

Words fall short of expressing our grief for your loss, as we mourn with family and friends for this great loss. We are truly sorry to hear of the loss of this promising being. Please accept our condolences, and may our prayers help comfort you. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Feel free to drop condolence messages and prayers for the family and friends of the deceased, as it will go a very long way at this difficult time of theirs.
