Arlene Semesky Car Accident: Arlene Semesky has been named as the victim of the accident in Rochester. Following the collision on East Lake roads in North East Township, Pennsylvania, she perished in an accident.
Sister Arlene Semesky, 79, a resident of St. Rita’s in Webster, was declared dead on Sunday, July 16, 2023, following the deadly collision in Erie County, Pennsylvania. Before her passing, she belonged to the Sisters of Mercy.

Three more nuns suffered injuries, according to data released by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester.
According to reports, they were in an SUV that had apparently stopped just before ten o’clock on Sunday morning in North East Township, Pennsylvania, at the intersection of Gay and East Lake roads. Less than a mile separates this crossroads from the state line with New York.
A pickup truck struck them as they continued through the junction. The SUV’s 75-year-old driver, Joanne Deck, was at fault for the Pennsylvania collision on Sunday.
Arlene was transported by helicopter to a local hospital after sustaining serious injuries. She is allegedly in very bad condition, according to the Sisters of Mercy.
The injuries sustained by two additional sisters in the collision were not thought to be life-threatening. Two passengers in the pickup truck were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening wounds, according to the police. Semesky had been a sister for nearly sixty years, according to a statement issued by the Sisters of Mercy.
