Alison McLaughlin and Neil McLaughlin Death News: The police have verified that the circumstances surrounding the deaths of a couple in Greenock, Inverclyde, are consistent with a murder-suicide.
A complaint of concern for the well-being of Alison McLaughlin, 53, and Neil McLaughlin, 57, was received on Friday, January 5th, 2024, at 17:05, and the remains of both of them were located inside their house, police stated in a press statement.
Police Scotland said on Thursday that they had finished their investigations and were not searching for any other people connected to the deaths. This was the conclusion that the police came to. They confirmed that Alison’s death was being investigated as a murder, while Neil’s death was being considered a non-suspicious death.
Police are treating a woman’s death as murder after finding the bodies of a married couple at a home in Scotland.
Alison McLaughlin, 53, and her husband Neil, 57, were found dead in their home on Greenock’s Banff Road, Inverclyde, after concern was raised for the pair’s welfare on Friday, January 5.
A probe was subsequently launched into the “unexplained” deaths.
In an update on Thursday, Police Scotland said the death of Mrs. McLaughlin was being treated as murder, while Mr. McLaughlin’s was being treated as non-suspicious.
The force added that extensive inquiries have been carried out and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of both Alison and Neil. They have asked for privacy at what is a very difficult time for them.
