Alicia L. Cole Death News: In a heartbreaking incident on Joliet’s west side near Clara Avenue, the community mourns the untimely passing of 40-year-old Alicia L. Cole. The tragic turn of events unfolded when Joliet police responded to a distress call from Cole’s residence on Westshire Drive after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Cole bravely contacted authorities, reporting an attempted intrusion into her home. Upon arrival, police discovered a shattered front window and signs of forced entry through the front door. Inside, they encountered a 47-year-old man, identified as the assailant, complying with officers’ instructions to exit the premises.
Tragically, Cole was found unresponsive in the bathroom, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Meanwhile, the perpetrator was taken to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center for injuries sustained while breaking into the residence.
Currently hospitalized and under police surveillance, the assailant’s condition is being monitored while pending charges are being considered by law enforcement officials.
