Who is Alex Mackinnon?
John and Margaret Mackinnon welcomed Alex into the world on July 12, 1960 in Ottawa. He studied at Carleton University, where in 1982 he earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce.
At the University of Ottawa, he continued his studies to earn a law degree, which he did in 1985. In 1987, he was admitted to the Ontario Bar.
Alex started his legal career in a sizable national law company, where he developed skills in a variety of commercial law topics. Together with two other colleagues, he made the decision to form Mackinnon & Associates in 1992.
The company rapidly expanded to become one of Ottawa’s top corporate and commercial law firms, representing customers from all throughout Canada and overseas.
For his professionalism, honesty, and skill in his field, Alex Mackinnon was well-known. Numerous magazines and honors named him one of Canada’s top attorneys.
In addition, he served as a mentor and an inspiration for many young attorneys who joined his practice or sought his counsel.
