Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias Obituary: Sadly, DJ Rose—a loving moniker for Los Angeles, California-born TV host and producer Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias—has gone away. Her passing caused sadness among those who knew her. On Monday, November 18, 2023, a Facebook post was issued confirming her death.
The Kababayan Network is saddened by the news of the passing of Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias. Roslynn, also known as Ros, was one of our early supporters when SoCal Filipinos was first created. She made sure we were included in many events to support/promote and bring recognition to the Filipino American community, such as the Filipino Heritage Nights for sports teams, community events, comedy Shows and more. The community is mourning your loss but you have left your mark and will always be remembered. I can’t thank you enough for your support of our organization. Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias Education
Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias studied communications and received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from California State University, Fullerton. Over the course of her career, Roslynn has curated over 500 live events and editorial programs. She has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Drake, Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, John Legend, AT&T, Budweiser, Coca-Cola, and Wendy’s.
Her career started at the beginning when MySpace Music was just getting started, and she spent ten years there as the Head of Artist Relations & Integrated Marketing.
She made a substantial contribution to the opening of MySpace Latino in Mexico and the UK during her time there, as well as playing a crucial part in the worldwide promotion of MySpace Music. Scooter Braun, the manager of Justin Bieber, and Daniel Ek, the founder of Spotify, were among the industry heavyweights who secured her a spot on Billboard Magazine’s list of the Top 30 Music Industry Professionals.
