Molly Brodak Suicide: In loving memory of Poet, writer and baker, Molly Brodak; Blake Butler’s new book.
After being diagnosed with a brain tumor, 39-year-old Molly Brodak took her own life on March 8, 2020, in Atlanta, Georgia.
In his latest book, titled “Molly,” Butler described the heartbreaking last hours of his loving wife’s life, almost three years after Brodak passed away.
Butler also included his wife’s eerie last journal note in his new book.
Butler had announced his wife’s death via a Twitter post when she died; “My partner Molly Brodak passed away yesterday. I don’t know how else to tell it,” Butler wrote.
“Took a bath, said goodbye to my body. We ate grilled halloumi and made love after dinner and watched our favorite things on TV,” according to Butler’s book, Brodak wrote in her last entry.
