Officer Ethan Cordry of the West Linn Police Department sadly died away Friday afternoon following an unanticipated medical event. His age was twenty-six. West Linn, Oregon, is a town in mourning. The neighborhood, his coworkers, and his family are all startled and grieved by the news. Officer Cordry joined the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office in 2020 and started out as a prison deputy.
Given his evident commitment to public service, it was not surprising that on April 11, 2022, he was hired as a police officer by the West Linn Police Department. Officer Cordry graduated from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training in October 2022, and he began field training in February 2023. Because of his professionalism and unwavering dedication, Officer Cordry left a lasting effect on everyone in West Linn during those two years.
Officer Cordry’s father, stepfather, and brother were all law enforcement officers, making him the fourth generation of his family to serve in that capacity. Above and above the call of duty, he was a model of a family legacy that was highly regarded. A memorial service is being held in honor of Officer Cordry by the West Linn Police Department, which regards him as a valued friend, colleague, and public servant.
