Paul Marsh Death; Identified As Victim Found of Stab Injury- Wigan police quiz schoolboy murder suspect

At 6.08pm on Friday (November 17), GMP received reports of a man unconscious at a Samuel Street home in Atherton. Police found Paul Marsh with apparent stab wounds.

His family added, “Paul was our son, brother, partner, and father and was loved unconditionally,” in a police statement.

“We can’t believe Paul died so violently and tragically. Paul will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, and joy. May his soul rest in peace

“Paul will not be forgotten, and our world is sadder without him.” Paul’s family requests privacy during their grief.

A man apprehended at the scene for murder was freed without further action. A 16-year-old boy was detained for murder at night on Sunday, November 19. He is being questioned by police.

Chief Inspector Neil Higginson said: “The investigative team is thinking of the victim’s relatives.

“We want answers and to determine what happened.

I know people will be worried about what happened, but I want to reassure you that we have additional resources to find the perpetrator. “We believe the man was stabbed and are investigating murder.

Our investigation is ongoing, and we urge anyone with knowledge about this event to contact authorities.
