In Thomson, a 14-year-old was shot in the head and later died.

The teen passed very early on Saturday morning, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The Tuesday night’s gunshot event that sent the boy to the intensive care unit is being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI reports that at approximately 6:30 p.m., law enforcement received a call of a shooting on Anderson Avenue. Authorities discovered that a 14-year-old boy had been shot once or more. The adolescent was in the intensive care unit as of Wednesday, 4:45 PM, alive but unresponsive.

According to the GBI, the victim and other children were on Anderson Avenue, when a number of males approached and began firing repeatedly at the house, striking the victim.

Jonathan Johnson of Thomson was the victim who has now passed away from his injuries, according to the McDuffie County Coroner’s Office, which announced his identity on Monday, November 20.
