Jackie Moretz Obituary News: Beloved Oro Vista EMT, Jackie Moretz dies following battle with cancer.

Oro Vista VFD & EMS on Monday, November 20, 2023, announced the passing of one of their own, Jackie Moretz.

“With the permission of family, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our own. After a hard fought battle with cancer, Jackie Moretz passed away last night surrounded by family!,” Oro Vista VFD & EMS announced via a social media post.

“Jackie was an amazing person and became a mom to many of us in Otero County. She absolutely loved being apart of the Fire and EMS family. Jackie, along with her son Morgan, began with Oro Vista and spent 2 years with us before moving to Boles Acres Fire and Rescue where she spent 6 years. She worked her way up to being the EMS Captain before returning to Oro Vista as a support member while battling cancer. She worked hard and achieved her EMT-Intermediate certification. Jackie even served as an EMT with AMR-Otero. Jackie will be missed dearly by not only Oro Vista but everyone that had the opportunity to know and love her.”
