Garnet West Obituary: 53-year-old Booneville man identified as victim in fatal Prentiss County shooting.

The identity of the person who was shot and killed in Prentiss County on Friday night, November 17, has been made released by the authorities.

The victim was identified as Booneville resident Garnet West, 53, by Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar. West sustained many gunshot wounds, authorities said.

The shooting incident happened close to the Hobo Station neighborhood on Highway 4 East. In a yard, the victim was discovered by deputies.

35-year-old Louis Poutoa who resided at the place of the incident was taken into custody by deputies and charged with capital murder.

Nothing else about the events leading up to the shooting was disclosed by the sheriff, as investigation is ongoing.
