Both the victim and the suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred in Northport have been identified by the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit. On Sunday afternoon, Captain Marty Sellers determined that the two individuals were a husband and wife.
Northport Police were dispatched to a residence located in the 3200 block of 28th Street Northport around twelve o’clock on Sunday, according to the authorities. In response to a call to 911 reporting a shooting, the police officials arrived at the location.
According to the officers who arrived, they discovered a woman named Donna Adams, who was 79 years old and had died from a gunshot wound. Her husband, Gerald Adams, who is 80 years old, is the person under suspicion.
At the time of his arrest, he was still present at the site. Throughout her life, Mrs. Adams had been afflicted with a persistent sickness. Before the shooting, there was no indication that there had been a disagreement.
In accordance with Aniah’s Law, Mr. Adams has been arrested and charged with murder. He is currently being held in the county jail without the possibility of bond. The case is still being looked into by the authorities.
