Burnaby Car Accident: Female pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle at Hastings Street and Rosser Avenue.
Authorities in Burnaby have confirmed that a car struck and killed a female pedestrian late on Thursday morning.
Police said the collision occurred along Hastings Street and Rosser Avenue at approximately eleven in the morning.
Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in a statement, “We are still working to determine the circumstances of this incident, which has tragically claimed a life.”
Following the crash, emergency personnel closed up Hastings between Madison and Rosser avenues. According to Kalanj, the busy road will be closed “for quite some time, most likely into the evening hours.”
He stated, “Please find a different route and stay away from the area.”
According to mounties, investigators have “identified the vehicle” in question and are examining witness accounts to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the deadly occurrence.
