Bruce Harschnitz Obituary: In loving memory of OPP Auxiliary Staff Sergeant fatally struck by vehicle in Brant County.

The Ontario Provincial Police are mourning the tragic and sudden death of Auxiliary Staff Sergeant Bruce Harschnitz.

Officer Harschnitz was fatally struck by a car while walking on White Swan Road in Brant County around 6:00 am. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Officer Harschnitz was 61 years old.

Bruce began his auxiliary policing as a member of the Paris Police Department Auxiliary and joined the Brant County OPP Auxiliary Unit when the Paris Police Service amalgamated with the OPP in 1998.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marian Harschnitz.
