Debra Griggs Obituary-Death News; Well-Known Real Estate Agent, Debra Griggs Passes Away
The founder of Animal Resources of Tidewater and a citizen of Norfolk, Virginia, Debra Griggs, passed away. In addition to being a consistently awarded real estate agent, she spent many years for improved animal rights and care in the state and her neighbourhood.
I am heartbroken to share with you that my dear wife of 43 years, Debra Griggs, passed away last evening,” her husband stated in a statement confirming her death.
In a statement posted on social media by her devoted spouse, Debra stated that complications from the illness cachexia (Wasting syndrome) caused her death. He also added that she had been winning the last two years against metastatic breast cancer before she passed away.
For many years, one of the best agents in Hampton Roads has been Debra Jane Griggs, also known as “Debbie.” One of her main sources of new clients has come from her community service.
She had held positions as president of the Junior League, chair of the JL International Board, member of the Board of Realtors, and president of the Ryan White Consortium. She belonged to Animal Resources of Tidewater, the VA Federation of Humane Societies, and the vestry of Ascension Episcopal Church.
She has frequently won real estate honours and was a prominent advocate for better animal rights and care in the state and community for many years. Her social media accounts indicate that she attended Peterstown High School and continued her education at Radford University and Converse College, where she studied music.
