Monday night’s north suburban collision claimed one life, according to authorities. Just before 3:30 p.m., according to Palatine police, officers were called to a collision near Quentin Road and Hillside Street.

One car was involved in the collision, which also involved a house and a utility post, according to the police.

The motorist, who was only described as female, was declared deceased at the scene, according to the police. Her age was not disclosed right away.

According to police, there was nobody else in the car and no other injuries were reported.

Along with Palatine police, the Major Case Assistance Team’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction section is looking into the collision.

While the inquiry is ongoing, Quentin Road is blocked in both directions between Kenilworth Avenue and Glencoe Road.
