Ormond Beach Motorcycle Accident: Motorcyclist dead, another in critical condition after crash on US-1 at Karat Path, Flagler County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorbike they were riding in unincorporated Flagler County on Sunday morning collided with the side of a car that did not stop for them, killing the passenger and seriously hurting the driver.

According to troopers, the collision happened at Karat Path on US-1 (State Road 5) around 10 a.m.

An FHP crash report states that the 65-year-old man driving the motorbike and the woman riding as his passenger were travelling north on US-1 when their vehicle collided with the 32-year-old Palm Coast woman’s sedan’s front passenger door.

According to the complaint, the sedan was heading south on US-1 when it attempted to turn left onto Karat Path without stopping for the approaching motorcyclist.

The 66-year-old Ormond Beach woman who was riding in the motorbike with the troopers passed away at the hospital later.

According to troopers, neither rider on the motorbike was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
