Ivan Bart, head of IMG Models, died this past weekend, and the fashion imagery community are grieving his loss. Ivan Bart passed away, according to a close family friend.
The Managing Director and longtime president of IMG Models, the biggest modelling agency globally, was declared deceased following what appeared to be a suicide. He was in his sixties.

Bart spent more than thirty years employed with IMG Models. No one was chosen to succeed him as President when he resigned. Susan Plagemann was chosen to supervise the founding of WME Fashion. She was formerly the chief business officer of Condé Nast. Jeni Rose and Kate Stirling were in charge of IMG Models.
Bart declared that in his new role as Senior Special Adviser, he will keep looking for new models. In 1994, Mr. Bart moved from Ford Models to become an agent for IMG. Mr. Bart worked with two of the most sought-after models of the era, Stephanie Seymour and Carolyn Murphy, in his early years at the agency.
