Harvard, IL Car Accident: One dead after Sunday crash on Route 14 between Dunham and Dimmell Roads.

Following a single-vehicle collision on Sunday on Route 14 between Dunham and Dimmell Roads close to Harvard, one individual was declared dead, according to Harvard Fire Department authorities.

When the Harvard Fire Department got there at 7:30 in the morning, they discovered someone trapped in a van that had flipped over on its side. One man was claimed to have been freed from the car by officials. The endeavour was aided by the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District.

According to authorities, the individual was declared dead at the scene following almost an hour-long attempt at resuscitation.

Both the McHenry County Coroner and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office could not be reached.

Investigation is ongoing.

Harvard is a city located in McHenry County, Illinois. The population was 9,469 at the 2020 census. The city is 63 miles from the Chicago Loop and it is the last stop on the Union Pacific Northwest Line.

The original owners of the land which came to be Harvard, Illinois, were Abram Carmack and Jacob Davis, who obtained it from the government in 1845 and sold it to Gilbert Brainard shortly afterward.
