56-year-old Melissa Montgomery of Vienna, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.
Melissa was a Registered Nurse. She gained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University and then went on to gain her Master from Bellevue University of Nebraska. She was Associate Vice President, Women and Children’s Services and Chief Nursing Officer of Memorial Health System, and Trustee of Memorial Health Foundation.
Melissa will be sorely missed by family, friends and many who knew her.
“Today, we honor and mourn Melissa Montgomery…Melissa was a highly regarded nurse leader and mentor who served our community for several decades. She was well respected and left a legacy to all nurses who looked up to her and learned from her,” Memorial Health System wrote in a Facebook post.
“We are forever grateful for her leadership and the impact she has left behind. Our thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones during this time. She will be missed dearly by her family at Memorial Health System.”
