Matt Temchatin Obituary-Death News; Hazleton Area School District Basketball Coach, Matt Temchatin Passes Away

Matt Temchatin, a Drums, Pennsylvania native and graduate of Hazleton Area High School, sadly passed away. His death on Thursday, October 26, 2023, devastated his friends and family.

A Facebook post stating, “This past Thursday, I lost a great friend,” served as confirmation of his passing. My heart hurts for everyone who knew and loved Matt Temchatin, especially his wife Missy, and I still find it hard to believe it’s true. Molly, Melissa Bixler Temchatin, and Max For the past five years, Matt and I have been our girls’ coaches. Matt Temchatin passed away, however the precise cause of death is yet unknown.

After graduating from Bishop Hafey High School, Matt Temchatin attended Hazleton Area High School. He continued his education at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania from 1997 to 2001, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mass Communication/Media Studies.

From February 2004 until September 2006, he worked as a CVS Assistant Manager in the Greater Philadelphia Area for a period of two years and eight months. He worked at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania for five years and three months, from October 2006 to December 2011. He held the position of Senior Account Manager.

From January 2012 to August 2017, he worked at Coca-Cola European Partners for five years and eight months as an account manager. In Pittston, Pennsylvania, he worked as a Sales Account Manager for ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages.

He owned Hip Hop Autographs and served as its curator. He coached junior high basketball with great dedication for the Hazleton Area School District.
