The Wissahickon School Board of Directors candidate from the Democratic Party, Ian Berg, passed away. He was part of the Wiss Strong slate, which also included four other candidates. On October 28, the remaining four candidates on the slate issued the following statement:
“We announce the sudden death of Ian Berg, a devoted father, dear friend, and enthusiastic volunteer, with sorrowful hearts. The entire community is grieving at Ian Berg’s passing in addition to his family and friends. We shall continue to strive for the issues he was passionate about in order to commemorate his memory and express our gratitude for the time we had with him. The good reforms he worked to implement and the lives he touched along the way will carry on his legacy”.
“We are sending Ian’s family our sincere sympathies and best wishes during this trying time. May the love and memories they had with him provide them courage and comfort. Our hearts will always be filled with Ian’s spirit, motivating us to continue his purpose of building a brighter future for our kids and our neighborhood”.
