Patrick (Paddy) Martin Obituary – Death: Former Chairman of Gibbstown Drive In Bingo, Patrick (Paddy) Martin Passes Away
Patrick (Paddy) Martin Obituary; It is with deepest sadness that we learned that our former chairman, Paddy Martin, was called home to heaven yesterday morning to join his darling Anna. Paddy was an important part of our community in so many ways.
Paddy was a very important part of the Gibbstown Hall Committee for so many years and was always available to carry out tasks, and he did not always have to be asked. If Paddy saw it needed doing, he did it. No task was too big or too small for Paddy. He was a great asset for our committee and was blessed with tonnes of common sense. His contributions at meetings were always solid and helped guide a lot of our final decisions.
Paddy was, for many years, the “voice” of Gibbstown Bingo as the main bingo caller. He was also a strong and committed GAA man and served many years as an official umpire. His love of the game never diminished. However, his biggest devotion was always to his wife Anna, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was, and rightly so, proud of them all.
We will miss Paddy, but the memories he left us are so many that, in some ways, he will always be with us. To Enda and Margaret and all the extended family, we offer our sincere condolences on your loss. May his gentle and peaceful soul rest with the angels.
