Kevin Karlson Obituary; A Veteran Boston Radio Broadcaster, Passes Away Suddenly.

On Friday, the classic rock radio station WZLX reported the death of Kevin Karlson, a nearly 20-year Boston morning drive talk show presenter.

The Medford, Massachusetts-based station released a statement saying, “100.7 WZLX shares news of our friend Kevin Karlson’s unexpected passing with great sadness.” “With humor and classic rock, Kevin helped wake up Boston for almost 20 years.”

Karlson co-hosted the morning show on WZLX with Pete McKenzie, Heather Ford, and producer Kenny Young starting in 2019. Before moving to WZLX as a group in 2005, Karlson, McKenzie, and Ford presented the morning show for WPDH-FM in New York.

“We lost a member of our Family today,” Young tweeted. “Rest In Peace, Hug your loved ones….”

Carter Alan, host of WZLX, stated on air on Friday that they “weren’t exactly sure” how Karlson passed away.

Karlson received a plethora of accolades on social media and radio, with WZLX urging listeners to share their memories of “that snarky, pot-stirring rascal,” in the words of one caller.

On WZLX’s Facebook page, a listener commented, “Kevin was so funny and made any day a better one.” “We shall miss him. I send my sympathies to his friends, family, and the rest of us who listened to him every day.
