On October 27, 2023, Ms. Imogene Margaret Durham, a beloved resident of the De Queen area, passed away. She was 97 years old. Her life served as an example of what may be achieved by serving others and being devoted to God.
On January 4, 1926, Imogene was born in the little Arkansas town of De Queen. Throughout her prosperous life, she never wavered in her devotion to her community.
Imogene was a lifelong resident of the neighborhood and an ardent member of the First United Methodist Church, where many were inspired by her example. She participated with the Ladies’ Aid Society and sang in the Chancel Choir in addition to simply attending events. Her devotion to the church and her unwavering faith were inspirational.
Not merely because of her involvement in the church, Imogene was well-liked by many because of her gentle disposition. Her warmth and compassion made a tremendous impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. She had a special talent for making people feel loved and valued, and she made a lasting impression on everyone she came into contact with.
